Carey should play again - Jackson

6 June 2002

AFL chief executive Wayne Jackson believes former Kangaroos star and dual-premiership coach Malcolm Blightcoach should return to coaching, largely to rewrite the end of his football story.

"I liken it to Wayne Carey's situation," said Jackson.

"If Wayne Carey came back next year and played three or four years of high-quality football, then that would be terrific for Wayne Carey's legacy.

"I personally don't think that Wayne Carey should leave the game the way he has . . .

"With Malcolm I have a view about the way he should do it, but that's a different story."
